John Hegarty plays with The Swell Season in the NCH

I am delighted to be opening for the Swell Season in the National Concert Hall this weekend on Saturday and Sunday night. I’d like to thank Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova for inviting me to play. I’ve never played the National Concert Hall before so I am very excited. Really looking forward to seeing the Swell Season and catching up with everyone after.

John Hegarty and Barry McCormack play the Kilkenny Roots Festival

I am delighted to announced that I will be playing in the Kilkenny Roots Festival next Saturday, the 3rd of May with the wonderful, Barry McCormack who is coming all the way from Helsinki, Finland for the show. We are playing in Bollards, at 9.30pm and admission free. We will be talking about our long musical relationship, picking each other’s favourite songs to sing and generally have a night of it.

John Hegarty Returns to Nighthawks

I am playing in Dublin in March at Nighthawks, which is a mixture of top quality music, comedy and literature run by the very talented Stephen Kennedy. It is the best night out in Dublin. It is happening on the night of Saturday, the 22nd of March at the United Arts Club and tickets are available from Eventbrite. It will be a pleasure to be in a line up with such talented songwriters, as Galia Arad and Peter Cahill and gifted writers, as Angela Flannery and Colm Keegan and the wonderful comedian, Kevin Gildea

John Hegarty supports The Sick and Indigent Song Club at The Sugar Club.

John is delighted to be opening for The Sick and Indigent Song Club on Friday night at The Sugar Club. He was there at the early musical sing-songs at the Sick and Indigent House at the entrance to Dublin Castle and played a bit of piano and double bass on their second album. It will be great to meet up with the gang to celebrate their 20th birthday, promises to be a great show

The “Daydreaming” EP has featured on Marty in the Morning as a Marty Recommends this week. All four songs “Daydreaming”, “Where I Can’t Follow You”, “Correspondences” and “When I Come To Find You” were played throughout the week on Marty in the Morning and Marty described the “Daydreaming” EP as “fab”, “fantastic”, “gorgeous” and “very fine”.

John Hegarty releases his new EP, “Daydreaming” on Rollercoaster Records on Saturday, the 20th of April which also happens to be Record Store Day.

The Daydreaming EP was recorded in 2023 in The Barn Studio and Twilights Studios in Kilkenny and was recorded and produced by Leo Pearson and John Hegarty.

The Daydreaming EP will be available on CD and Digital Download and John will celebrate the release of the Daydreaming EP with an instore in Rollercoaster Records where he will perform songs from his latest recording.
