if you’re asking how
I would explain
what will remain a
mystery to me
late in the night thinking
through it again
no hint or plan
the pieces won’t fit
and if was it all just by chance
you could have walked by
instead the world opened up in a glance
when I caught your eye
don’t look down
see how far we’ve climb
from our early days
left so far behind
when we stood
out in the winter cold
with a lip lifted to a lip
as you held me close
the mystery unfolds
if you’re asking it’s
not about facts it’s
greater than that is
all I can say
when I look back on each
step that we made
weaving our way through the
city that night
when you could see no end in sight
no conclusion you’ll find
why such beauty is softly breathing
sleeping by my side
don’t look down
see how far we’ve climb
from our early days
left so far behind
when we stood
out in the winter cold
with a lip lifted to a lip
as you held me close
the mystery unfolds
if you’re asking
how would I explain
what will always remain
a mystery to me
a mystery to me…….
